LUCKY NEW MOON IN SAGITTARIUS TRINES JUPITER NOVEMBER 23/24, 2022: TAKING RISKS; CREATING FREEDOM

Updated: Feb 23, 2023

Happy New Moon in Sagittarius! This New Moon at approximately 1 ½ degrees of Sagittarius becomes exact at 5:57 PM New York time (22:57 GMT) on Wednesday, November 23. This New Moon begins the first lunation following the final (and most powerful) Eclipse Season of 2022!

Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign that brings an energy of play, passion and spontaneity to the Zodiac. Ruled by optimistic, auspicious Jupiter, The Archer serves as a reminder that a life without spontaneity, risks, or new experiences is a boring one! Sagittarius reminds us to go after what we really want in life, unapologetically—and to not be afraid to take some risks on the way there.

Sagittarius is one of the signs of the Zodiac that emphasizes freedom. The Archer prefers to roam free and untied rather than nest in one place like Cancer for example. One of the things to focus on during and after this eclipse is how you can bring more freedom, passion and exploration into your experience of life.

Sagittarius is the ruler of the 9th House, the House of Philosophy. Aside from being a roamer and an adventurer, Sagittarius is also the great philosopher of the Zodiac! During Sagittarius season, we naturally feel inclined to read books, learn new things, and engage in philosophical discussions.

What makes this a very lucky lunation is that the New Moon forms a harmonious, lucky trine with the stationing Jupiter—Sagittarius’s ruling planet. Jupiter is coming to the end of its Retrograde phase in the sign of Pisces, and it appears to station in the sky. When a planet is stationed, it is exalted, meaning that it has a stronger influence than usual.

Jupiter in Pisces is a beautiful aspect, as it emphasizes beauty, creativity and good will. That sentiment is the essence of this New Moon chart—painting the energies now with beauty and well-being. This is a much-needed dose of positive vibes following the recent difficult, obstacle-laden and tumultuous Eclipse Season in the Taurus-Scorpio nodal configuration.

The stationing Jupiter also forms an opportunistic sextile with Pluto in Capricorn, meaning what we create in the 28 days following this New Moon will likely have lasting influence (aka staying power!) Now that we have moved out of the last (and most potent) Eclipse Season of 2022, we are in a prime moment for manifestation! Think of this Sagittarius season as being a manifestation gateway for 2023 and beyond.

Parlaying off this positive energy, we have Mercury and Venus conjoining in Sagittarius, bringing an ease and comfort in interpersonal communication and harmony in romantic relationships (more on that later in this article).

As Sagittarius is the freedom-loving sign of the Zodiac, let’s discuss how you can create more freedom in your own life!

CREATING FREEDOM IN YOUR OWN LIFE

As the adventurous Archer, the sign of Sagittarius epitomizes freedom!

Whether we remember it or not, each and every one of us are eternal creator beings playing in this third-dimensional game for fun, experience and Divine Service! It is especially true for those of us that are Starseeds that we absolutely knew what we were getting ourselves into when we decided to come to Earth.

We knew that we would be entering into a dense third-dimensional world fraught with perils such as war, disease, toxins and institutionalized socioeconomic inequalities. We also knew that the time would come when we would have the opportunity to play a pivotal Divinely-Guided role in helping to end the disease, strife, environmental toxicity, racism and economic suppression of the masses that has become the norm in this modern day.

For some of you, that role manifests directly via your chosen career or in volunteer or philanthropic pursuits; however for the majority of Lightworkers our contribution manifests more indirectly through our energetic work.

As above; so below and as within, so without; so if we wish to see energetic and earnest freedom behold the human race, we must strive to experience and express that freedom within our own consciousnesses.

I’d like to also add that this week we have an interesting Grand Trine between Black Moon Lilith in Cancer, the stationing and exalted Jupiter in Pisces, and the sun (and for a time, the moon, too) in Sagittarius. To me, the sense I get from this is that this is an auspicious time for the continued rising of the Divine Feminine in the world!

So it seems like a propitious time for advancements in women’s rights. How this may (or may not) end up manifesting in the real world over this Sagittarius season, I have no idea.

During this Sagittarius season, focus on how you can create more freedom in your life, in all ways! Here are some questions of inquiry (and to journal on) to consider as you evaluate the role of freedom in your life:

  • In what ways have I been feeling stifled or stuck in life? Take into account all areas of your life: relationships; career; finances; health; and your inner world.

  • How could I allow for just a little bit more of a sense of freedom and spontaneity in my life while still keeping a healthy structure that allows me to grow long term?

  • What parts of me feel old and need to go? Have I been playing an old character? What kind of things trigger me into playing that old character? What kind of people trigger me into playing that old character? Is there anything stopping me from letting these aspects go and stepping into a new recreation of myself?

  • What gives me a feeling of fire and passion? How could I structure my life in a practical way to allow more time to pursue my passions?

  • Where is some place I have always wanted to travel to? Could I make that happen before the end of 2023?

  • If I can't fully move around the chess pieces of my life to my exact liking right now, then could I be more spiritually mature and calm my nervous system more often—and teach it how to feel safe? What daily activities or rituals could help me in doing that?

One of the most important lessons that Sagittarius provides to the Zodiac is how to be unconventional and mix things up!

FEELING STUCK? DON'T FORGET TO MIX THINGS UP!

One of the themes that everyone experiences at one point or another is stagnation. When your energy stagnates, you're likely to experience bouts of depression and anxiety. If you feel like you've been stagnating lately—or even if you haven't—it's best to utilize the energy of Sagittarius season to bring some adventure and variety into your life!

The Universe will often keep us in a situation where we feel stuck and stifled so that the frustration builds up so much that we finally take a leap of faith and make a big change in our lives. Undoubtedly, there will be choice points in your Life Plan where your Higher Self will nudge you to take a leap of faith. Courage usually pays off.

With the exalted, stationing Jupiter in Pisces trining the sun and moon, luck is on our side now and over the next 28 days! Now is definitely the time to ‘get out of the box’--you never know what treasures may lie on the other side of taking a chance! And this is an especially great time to meet someone new in a romantic context (more on that later!)

If it's not the time for you to make a big change, then you can shake things up in smaller ways. Perhaps you can plan a game night with your family; go for a hike in a place you haven't been before; create an indoor garden; write a book; start a new workout routine; learn tai chi or yoga; make art; learn an instrument remotely; make a new friend over the Internet; change up the furniture in your house; clean up your house; design an app or a video game; or start a YouTube channel!

It doesn't always take a huge change in your life to shake off that sense of stagnation. Actually, that is more often the exception rather than the rule. For most of us, the best way to integrate the Sagittarian energy into our lives is to add spontaneity in little ways. Here are some additional suggestions:

-- Wear some clothing you haven't worn in awhile or thrift shop for clothing

-- Take a different route on your walk

-- Create something new in the kitchen

-- Change up something about your look

-- Get a new pet (but make sure you're totally committed of course!)

Life is meant to be an adventure, although it's easy to forget that on this planet, where life can often be difficult, obstacle-laden, sad, dangerous and scary. But it’s definitely something that we are not supposed to leave behind completely, no matter what. It’s important to find the fun in being a human as much as you possibly can with the situation you find yourself in.

Yes, life is painful at times, but the more we can remember that life is an adventure, the more we are going to enjoy the little things in life. And furthermore, when we view life as an adventure, we are then able to let go of holding onto needing any particular outcome to manifest, because we know that no matter what happens, the adventure will continue.

When you are able to let go of needing any one particular outcome to manifest, you place yourself in perfect alignment to draw your dreams to you. If romance is one of the dreams that is on your mind, now is actually a great time to draw that to you!

MERCURY AND VENUS ALIGN TO BRING HARMONY IN RELATIONSHIPS (AND A GREAT TIME TO FLIRT!)

On this New Moon, Mercury—the planet of communication—and Venus—the planet of love and romance—align almost exactly in the sky, in Sagittarius. With this conjunction, we can expect to have harmonious communication with loved ones—especially romantic partners (or even romantic interests).

This is a welcomed gift from the skies—as during this most recent Eclipse Season it was quite a difficult time for many romantic partnerships! Many partnerships ended (or the ending was energetically initiated) during the Eclipse Season—but for those partnerships that survived (and grew) through the portal of the Eclipses, this next 28 days should be a time of harmony and adventure! Plan some fun adventures with your partner during this holiday season!

Also, if you are in the market for a new romantic partnership, now is a pretty auspicious time, as Sagittarius is quite flirty and forward! People will be feeling naturally coquettish, so put yourself in a position to meet someone new, whether it be in-person or online!

MARS RETROGRADE TRINES SATURN: TACKLE YOUR TO-DO LIST!

Mars is still Retrograde in Gemini (it will be for the rest of the year), which makes it a terrific time to tackle your To-Do List! When Mars is Retrograde, going back and re-addressing, re-starting, or finishing up projects that you had put on the back burner makes a lot of sense!

With Mars trining Saturn in Aquarius, the ‘building’ work that we do over the next 28 days is going to very likely have staying power! And with the influence of the Aquarian energies—any projects or undertakings that are contributing to the greater good of groups of people will likely have especially good fortune placed upon them by the exalted Jupiter in Pisces sextiling Pluto.

So get going on crossing some things off your To-Do list during this Sagittarius season—it’s quite a satisfying feeling!

MARS SQUARES NEPTUNE: WATCH OUT FOR ILLUSION

One cautionary element in this New Moon chart is that the Retrograde Mars in Gemini squares the Retrograde Neptune in its home sign of Pisces. We may be more susceptible to illusions, and being ‘hoodwinked’ at this time. People may get unnecessarily suspicious of one another.

So watch out for these tendencies, and instead give people the benefit of the doubt, especially with the Mercury-Venus conjunction being active in the sky.

Remember to set your New Moon intentions! Make a list of what you’d like to manifest over the next 28 days after the New Moon becomes exact. This is an especially powerful season for manifestation, with Jupiter’s influence, so take advantage of it!

Wishing you a lucky and enjoyable New Moon in Sagittarius!

With Love,

Matthew John
