FULL MOON IN LEO & PLUTO IN AQUARIUS JANUARY 25/26, 2024: DISCOVERING YOUR TRUEST SELF AND SERVICE MISSION IN THE AQUARIAN AGE

Updated: Jan 26

Happy Full Moon in Leo! This Full Moon at just over 5 degrees of Leo became exact at 12:53 PM EST/New York Time (17:53 GMT) today, on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

Leo is a fixed fire sign that is represented by a lion—an animal that exemplifies pride, beauty and power. Fixed signs in the Zodiac come in the middle of a season and bring the energies of stability, endurance and stubbornness. Fire signs come with high energy, vigor, passion and outgoingness.

Leo is ruled by the sun, which is the ball of fire that all planets in our solar system rely on for light and sustenance. Leo rules over the 5th House, the House of Pleasure, which is in charge of pleasure, recreation, creativity, romance and children.

The sun currently resides in Leo's polar opposite, the fixed air sign of Aquarius. Unlike Aquarius-- which is focused on how the many can work together in unison--Leo is focused on the individual, on the ego. This is why so many celebrities are Leos!

This is the first Full Moon following Pluto’s grand entrance into Aquarius--along with the sun--on January 20. Although we had a brief two-plus month preview of Pluto in Aquarius in 2023, it really feels like we have entered into the Pluto in Aquarius era for real now (and except for a brief regression of Pluto back into Capricorn later this year, we are!)

I say it is a grand entrance, because Pluto only changes signs every 20 years or so! Pluto marks epochs. After re-entering Aquarius for good in November, it will remain there until 2044, leading us into the planetary Age of Aquarius, which most astrologers agree begins around 2043.

Pluto’s time in Capricorn—ruled by heavy, restricting Saturn--has been the epoch of top-down hierarchical rule: the wealthy and powerful very small minority continually taking more resources, and asserting more power and control over, the masses. It has been disaster capitalism at its worst; the pandemic lies and restrictions, and the ongoing wars of the past few years are Exhibit A of the harsh nature of the Pluto in Capricorn era.

The positive aspect of Pluto in Capricorn is that it energetically supported the growth of infrastructure, like better roads and vastly more efficient telecommunications.

Pluto in Aquarius is a totally different type of energy. Aquarius—which is the fixed air sign—is by nature egalitarian. It could be said that it is the glue that holds the rest of the Zodiac together. As the 11th sign, it exemplifies the numerologically significant master number of 11, which is the Ascension number (any series of 1s brings forth the Ascension energies).

As we progress deeper into the Pluto in Aquarius age, we will become more cohesive as one human race. We will eventually see borders more or less dissolve, and the way that we are governed shift more to local councils that are truly democratic (not just appearing democratic).

Aquarius is an air sign, and we should be looking to the skies over the next twenty years! I do believe that over the next twenty years, Earth will truly become a member of the galactic community.

Starting with this year, UFO activity is likely to really ramp up, as our extraterrestrial friends continue to acclimate us in preparation for true Disclosure and true First Contact (meaning a widespread, public meeting with ETs).

Also, flying cars, civilian space travel, teleportation, and other airy technologies will proliferate quickly over the next two decades.

Aquarius rules over invisible technology, like the Internet and Artificial Intelligence. We will see AI become more and more a part of every day life—in many ways, unavoidably so—over the next two decades. Eventually, robots will no longer be a novelty and a luxury—but a necessity for most. Most manual labor jobs will be replaced by machines.

Artificial universes (like the Metaverse) will be incredibly prevalent, and attract the attention of most in the more developed countries—especially the youth (social media’s endless feeds were the first iteration of this).

In one sense, rapidly emerging novel technologies will be leveling us as a planet up to match with some of the technologies that are common on other planets in our galaxy—and make life more convenient than ever before. We will finally move beyond fossil fuels and into all-electric. Eventually, hydrogen fusion will power our grids as as segue into scalar energy powering all.

However, many on the planet will lose their connection with the natural world and their natural nature more and more, especially when microchips (the ‘Mark of the Beast’) come into play. Also, as the majority of the population capitulates to an AI-driven everyday life, many people will lose touch with what we’ve known as being human, as we let the machines do so many tasks for us that we used to take for granted (like cooking our meals or doing our dishes).

I mentioned that Aquarius rules over the Internet. Aquarius is inherently without boundaries (which is why the dark side of the Aquarian experience can be martyrdom or victimhood). If you think you have no privacy online now (which you’re right), it will only get worse. And if you think censorship is bad now—that will get much worse, too.

Another way that we will be looking to the air, is that we will likely see more novel man-made pandemics debilitating the population and causing mass casualties—likely way worse than COVID (in fact the World Health Organization has recently held meetings about exactly this, and you know they don’t hold meetings like this for no reason).

We will see revolutions around the planet as people band together to demand more. We will see governments start to redistribute resources to the masses, beginning with Universal Basic Incomes.

So the fascinating dichotomy of the Pluto in Aquarius era, as I see it, is that we are both headed toward a utopia and a dystopia all in one.

Pluto in Aquarius is not the planetary Age of Aquarius itself, but it is the final doorway into the Age of Aquarius. Over the next twenty years, all the structures of control and manipulation will erode, and eventually break down and transform (Pluto does this) in order to make room for the true planetary experience of the Aquarian Age (and the galactic membership that comes along with that).

Around the time the true planetary Age of Aquarius begins, Pluto will enter Pisces, bringing us several decades of a great flowering of art and culture—with our ET friends by our side (ahhh, sounds wonderful!)

URANUS STATION/ALL PLANETS DIRECT

Speaking of Aquarius, its ruling planet Uranus is stationing on this Full Moon. Uranus’s Station exalts it, shining the spotlight even brighter on the Aquarian energies.

Although Leo is the sign of self-expression (more on this later in this article), Aquarius is the sign of uniqueness and authenticity. Thus, Leo and Aquarius work perfectly together on a polarity. With Uranus’s Station on this Full Moon, we are really feeling the desire to step into our most unique selves.

Post what you want, dress how you want, speak how you want, and be how you want over the next two weeks and beyond!

Uranus is the ruler of freedom and revolution—it’s a throat chakra energy. Now is the time to courageously step up and speak out about any injustices in your life. On a world scale, we will be feeling a revolutionary energy abound over the next two weeks—it will be interesting to see what sort of world events take place in the near future here.

I do believe that we are already in the early stages of World War III, with the Middle East being the powderkeg. The East (China/Russia/Iran/other Arab nations) vs. West (U.S. and allies) war has been being fought by proxy most recently ever since Russia’s initial invasion of Ukraine—and this is all likely only just the beginning.

With Neptune and Saturn in Pisces for all of 2024 fueling the fire of hypernationalism, we can expect things to only get worse. Uranus is the unpredictable wild card of the planets, so it will be interesting to see how its exaltation imprinted into this Full Moon manifests on the world stage over the next two weeks (and even the next four, as technically the energy of a Full Moon carries for 28 days).

Another thing to look out for with Uranus’s station are accidents. As it is coinciding with a fire Full Moon, there are likely to be more accidents on the roads around this time. And in general, with Uranus stationed, be on the lookout for accidents or misfortune in your own life.

If you look at the house that 19 degrees of Taurus falls in in your chart, it will show you both where you should express yourself more truthfully/authentically, or where you need to break free more—and in which area of your life you should look out for accidents/misfortune. Look at how your natal Uranus is aspected in your chart to determine how kind or unkind Uranus’s transits will be to you in general.

And if you’re confused by all of this, join my Ascending as One program for March to get a 20-minute natal chart reading with me, plus four exciting group programs! All the details are here: https://www.youareadivinehuman.org/events.

Once Uranus starts moving back Direct next week (its official Station Direct day is Saturday, January 27), we will be in a unique period when all planets (plus Chiron) are all direct!

Although for much of the latter half of 2023 the focus was on looking back and recalibrating the past, now that all planets will be direct, it will be all-systems-go in forward motion! The energies will be supporting pushing ahead with your goals and mission (more on this in the next section). We will be in this forward-moving energy from now until the next Eclipse season beginning in mid-March, which will coincide with Mercury’s second Retrograde period of the year.

FINDING OUR INDIVIDUAL DIVINE SERVICE WORK

As I’ve mentioned, the Leo Full Moon is a wonderful opportunity to find the alchemy between who we are most authentically—and how our unique expression can contribute to the world in a positive way.

As I’ve said, now that we have entered into the Pluto in Aquarius epoch, things are really ramping up. There is no turning back now on Planet Earth; the Ascension is upon us.

The question is—how are you contributing to the planetary Ascension in your own unique and crucial way? What is it that you’ve brought here (for those of you that are Starseeds—you’ve brought it here from other star systems/galaxies) that is a unique and crucial contribution to the collective Ascension?

One of my favorite parts about my Starseed Discovery Sessions is that people get to discover who they really are as a galactic being hanging out here on Earth—and what they intended to contribute here.

For some of you, you have already begun to actualize in your Service Mission. You are actively contributing through teaching spiritual values and ideals, doing grid work, energy healing work, mediumship work, etc.

Some of you are more focused on helping a particular group of beings—like women, children, animals, or addicts. Some of you are more broadly putting your Lightworker touches on the world. Many (most) of you are quietly bringing your magic fairy wand of Light to whatever profession you are in—whether you’re an accountant, a welder, a mail carrier, a chef, an Uber driver, etc.

All are valuable and crucial contributions to the whole! Every one of us is meant to have a very unique mission. I’m a unique expression of Source with a unique mission—and likewise, so are you!

It can be helpful to define your Service Work in a single sentence.

For me, my Service Work is to assist in the freeing and Ascension of humanity by working with Lightworkers at all stages of their development to help them create their Highest Destiny and step into their Service Work—and to specifically bring awareness to the nature and role of Starseeds, and how the soul plans out lifetimes.

How would you define your Service Work? Here are some questions to get you thinking:

  • Who or what do I feel most called to help? (e.g. alcoholics, the elderly, children, animals, the rainforests)

  • I feel most fulfilled when I ___(activity)____.

  • Which skills or talents do people most ask me to help them with?

  • What do I feel like is my mission on Earth?

  • What type of legacy do I want to leave behind on this planet?

  • What is the one thing that I have to help heal or improve before I leave the planet?

Go ahead and also write down your Service Mission in a single sentence and keep it somewhere special.

BRINGING OUT YOUR HIGHEST PERSONALITY

Leo—and the sun that rules it—teach and encourage us to bring out the positive aspects of ego—or what I would term the ‘Highest Personality’.

The ego is not inherently bad. The ego is much more complex than that. The truth is, the ego (actually a better term for this is the ego-personality) is the vehicle that is necessary for the experience of being almost any type of physically incarnate being.

If you've ever played or seen someone play the computer game The Sims, you'll recognize this example. The soul is the game-player who creates the Sim, and the Sim is the ego-personality. You can't experience the 'Sim World' as the game-player (soul/consciousness) unless you create an avatar to experience the 'Sim World'. This avatar is the ego-personality.

I believe that the day and time that you are born is predetermined by your soul, meaning that your astrology is also predetermined. Your natal chart pretty well determines your personality.

Your soul chooses a particular predetermined personality that will allow the soul to experience life from a particular individuated perspective in any given lifetime.

The hundreds (or thousands) of unique individuated perspectives that your soul experiences in human form on earth—in different timelines, time periods, and geographic locations; and in different types of bodies, with different ethnic backgrounds, families/upbringings, cultures, economic climates, and geographic climates, etc.--form a complete 'wheel of experience' (to simplify, think of it as your soul experiencing the unique perspectives of all 12 signs of the Zodiac wheel, over and over again, so that it can experience the totality of the Zodiac wheel).

So your soul wants to experience life through your unique perspective. Your unique ego-personality is not a barrier to Ascension; rather, it is the vehicle through which you are meant to experience Ascension.

Now, as you go through your Ascension process, your personality will inevitably shift and evolve. Some of the Shadow aspects of your personality that show up in your birth chart—the negative, immature, and unhealthy tendencies and aspects of ego—will dissolve away and you will embody more and more of the most positive, healthy, and spiritually mature aspects of your particular ego-personality.

In fact, as one Ascends, what is really happening is that the aspects of the personality that come directly from the soul are starting to shine through. Yes, it's true.

The soul has a unique personality too! And it's likely that if the soul has a personality, so does the oversoul/Soul Group (12 souls) and the monad (12 oversouls = 144 souls).

I believe it's likely that all individuated aspects of the All-That-Is have a unique personality. Perhaps it's a logical given, considering all individuated aspects of the All-That-Is have a unique perspective due to having a unique experience of existence.

One of the best ways to bring out that Highest Personality is to focus on purity. As empaths, we tend to sponge up 'stuff' from others, and if we don't know how to set boundaries with others and shield or cleanse ourselves spiritually, we won't be able to experience our highest personalities coming to life. You can't be fully YOU if you're expressing all sorts of 'crap' from others!

To experience more purity, it is important to spend occasional time in sacred solitude, and plenty of time in nature. Man is a social creature, yes, and that truth is illuminated during this Leo time; however along the spiritual journey the importance of alone time cannot be understated.

It is also crucial to practice spiritual hygiene: take cleansing baths, use palo santo or sage, and use visualization and sound frequencies to keep yourself clear. Cut negative cords with people in your life. Also, exercise daily--it moves stuck energy out of your energy field.

Around this Full Moon and over the course of the next 28 days is the time to highlight the most positive and charismatic aspects of your unique ego-personality. I feel like as a Leo Rising I need to be an ambassador for this point. Don't be afraid to let yourself loose, to let yourself shine! You deserve it!

I feel that I have a pretty good sense of humor. Without my sense of humor, I think my life would be pretty boring and depressing, and I wouldn't be able to meet so many cool people.

So I consider my sense of humor one of those 'soul' aspects of my personality. And Leo rules over humor—so if you also have a ‘funny bone’, let that aspect of you shine like the sun over the next 28 days!

Here are some questions of self-inquiry to help you figure out which aspects of the ego-personality might be from the soul-self and which aspects you still might need to transmute. Feel free to journal on these if you feel so called:

  • Which aspects of my personality am I most proud of?

  • Which aspects of my personality serve others best?

  • Which aspects of my personality feel most associated with Love?

  • Which aspects of my personality do I feel like come from my soul?

  • Do I have a tendency to hide these most positive aspects of my personality?

  • Am I afraid to be seen? Why might I have this fear? Could it come from childhood? Teenage years? Past lives?

  • Could I allow myself to shine more?

  • Which aspects of my personality are toxic, manipulative, codependent, or martyrish?

  • What do I know deep down that I need to do better in order to transmute these negative patterns into healthier ones?

  • How would my Highest Possible Self act in this body of mine? How would they speak?

OVERBLOWN EGOS & ANGER

The sun, moon and Jupiter (in Taurus) form a tense, almost exact T-square on this Full Moon. The key term with this is overblown egos. So although it’s important to express ourselves authentically, there’s also a fine line between that authenticity and arrogance.

Over the next two weeks, you will see a lot of people—especially narcissistic types—being extra arrogant, rude, and narcissistic. With Mars in stubborn, cold Capricorn squaring Chiron in emotional Aries, people will be feeling reactive, and may even get violent.

It’s best to stay away from angry people at this time. Let people cool down before re-addressing issues that need to be discussed—and of course, always seek safety first if someone does get violent.

Also, with the T-square, if we’re not careful we may also overspend on fashion and luxury items over the next two weeks.

The empty leg of this T-square is in Scorpio, showing us that when our egos become overblown, we need to remember that we are spiritual beings—and that the ego is just a temporary construct. This is easier for us Lightworkers to remember than a lot of less-spiritually enlightened people, but it’s important to remind ourselves of our spiritual nature at this time.

Let’s now discuss another crucial lesson from Leo: honoring the Inner Child.

HONORING THE INNER CHILD

Leo is the most childlike sign of the Zodiac, bringing with it an air of freedom, play and unabashedness. It is an aspect that we all carry within, though unfortunately most of us forget it is there as we journey from childhood to our teen years and into various stages of adulthood.

As adults, we can become so disconnected with how it feels to be a child. Sometimes I get nostalgic recalling how amazing and adventurous everything was when I was a kid. How my friends and I would spend from after school until sundown playing sports and games in my backyard, taking breaks to drink my mother's delicious fruit punch. My yard was the biggest in the neighborhood, so all the kids would congregate there. In the wintertime we would build elaborate snow forts and go sledding often, taking full advantage of the overabundance of snow in Western New York.

Most adults in today's Western world have become disconnected from their Inner Children. Society is structured in a way that most people don't have time to connect with their Inner Child, as they are too busy just trying to earn enough money to survive. And many of those who do make more than enough to survive end up finding themselves lost in illusions/addictions like gambling, alcohol, drugs, pornography or sexual obsession.

In fact, one of the reasons that so many teens and adults find themselves so enamored with those things is that it gives them an outlet to play. (Note: I'm not saying there's anything inherently wrong with gambling; alcohol; substances that are classified as drugs; pornography; or sex; it's all about how they are used—is it a healthy experience of play/pleasure or is it addiction/obsession/escapism?)

But we can find ways to play in more innocent ways. We can dance. We can sing. We can make silly faces. We can make jokes. We can throw snowballs at one another.

Doing an Inner Child meditation would be a great idea around this Full Moon. I like to take myself in my mind to a beautiful forest scene and really sink into this setting. I then imagine my Inner Child approaching from a distance, and I ask him what is it he needs from me that I haven't been giving him?

I embrace him, I hug him, and I make sure he feels like I am there for him and I am listening to him.

If you've never done an Inner Child meditation before, you may find that your Inner Child shows up at the age that you feel like you experienced the most trauma and abuse. This is because whatever basic physical or emotional needs that weren't met by your caretakers at that age are what you then spend the rest of your lifetime healing.

The things that people say or do that trigger you most directly relate to those unmet needs of your Inner Child. As an awakening being, you now have the opportunity to heal your Inner Child and experience the liberation of being a fully integrated sovereign adult consciousness. To do this, we first must get to know the voice of the Inner Child and identify what needs he or she has.

When the Inner Child's needs haven't been met and then are continuously ignored during adulthood, the Inner Child must find a way to get the conscious attention of the operator of the consciousness.

So, the Inner Child will put on a scary mask, so to speak, and become the Shadow. The Shadow Self can trigger you to act out in the darkest of ways, or even to attract people to treat you in nasty ways. The Shadow Self may sabotage your dreams and make it difficult for you to move forward.

The good news is that by listening to the voice of the Inner Child, the Inner Child feels seen, heard, and acknowledged--and thus doesn't need to morph into the Shadow to get your attention. When we consciously make the choice to honor those needs that the Inner Child has let us know he or she has, we can make rapid leaps forward in our spiritual development.

Here are some questions to ask yourself to help you get into deeper communion with your Inner Child:

  • If I had to guess, what would my Inner Child say about my life as it is now? Would (s)he be happy about it?

  • If I had to guess, what would my Inner Child say about my current living environment? Would (s)he be happy about it?

  • If I had to guess, what would my Inner Child say about my current job/career? Would (s)he be happy about it?

  • If I had to guess, what kind of things have I been neglecting to give my Inner Child that (s)he needs?

  • Which activities or creative endeavors from my childhood have I neglected lately?

  • Have I been taking myself or my life too seriously?

  • Do I let myself fall into the trap of the seriousness of those around me?

  • In what ways am I still mean or nasty to myself? How can I stop being mean or nasty to myself?

  • Am I OK with failing? How could I learn to be OK and forgive myself when I fail or mess up?

  • Do I forgive myself instantly or do I tend to hold things against myself?

  • How could I practice instant self-forgiveness?

  • Do I tend to let others' negative emotions take me over? How could I avoid this pitfall?

  • Am I OK looking silly or stupid to others? Does what others think of me actually really matter?

  • Am I truly honoring my deepest desires?

A great exercise around this Full Moon is to find a photo of yourself when you were a kid, and connect with it. What is your Inner Child feeling and desiring from you?

Wishing you a Happy Full Moon in Leo!

With Love,

Matthew John
